New Year, New Look, Same Mission

January 30, 2025

SCU has a whole new look for 2025...

We’re proud to unveil a new logo that is symbolic of not just who we are, but our commitment to empowering street-connected children worldwide.

The vibrant, dynamic design reflects our core mission of creating a world where every child, regardless of background, has respect and opportunities for success.

At the heart of our new identity are four colours, each poignantly representing one of the pillars that drive our mission…

💙 IDENTITY: Upholding every child's right to be seen, heard, and valued

Legal identity is a cornerstone of dignity and access to basic rights. Aligned with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 16.9, SCU champions every child’s right to official recognition and documentation.

Through our efforts and programmes, we advocate for and secure birth registration and legal identity for street-connected children worldwide, to ensure they can access essential services like healthcare and education. By empowering these children with a legal identity, we affirm their rights and help them proclaim to the world: “I am Somebody.”

Legal recognition is essential to transforming lives. A legal identity not only secures access to critical resources but also restores a sense of self-worth and belonging for children who often feel invisible.

❤️ ACCESS TO EDUCATION: Unlocking potential through learning and opportunity

Education is the gateway to opportunity and empowerment. For street-connected children, accessing education often involves overcoming systemic barriers, stigma, and poverty. SCU works tirelessly to unlock learning opportunities that provide these children with the skills and confidence to dream bigger.

We partner with local organisations, governments, and communities to create inclusive educational environments that cater to the unique needs of street-connected youth. By prioritising education, we help children break free from the cycles of poverty and build brighter futures.

💚 PROTECTION FROM VIOLENCE: Advocating for a world where children are safe and free from harm

Every child has the right to live free from fear and harm. At SCU, we are dedicated to ending all forms of violence, abuse, and exploitation faced by street-connected children.

Creating safe environments is at the heart of this pillar. We address root causes of violence, such as poverty and discrimination, while advocating for systemic changes that protect vulnerable children. Our work ensures that every child can grow and thrive in safety and dignity, free from the constant threat of harm.

🧡 GENDER EQUALITY: Championing fairness and opportunity for all, regardless of gender

Aligned with SDG 5, SCU believes achieving gender equality is essential for building a just and inclusive future. Around the world, girls often face additional barriers and risks due to harmful gender norms and systemic discrimination.

Our work focuses on dismantling these barriers, challenging harmful stereotypes, and promoting equal rights for all children. By empowering girls to access education, healthcare, and leadership opportunities, we ensure no child is left behind.

Dynamic, fluid and adaptable

The new SCU logo features a dynamic “swish” design, representing the fluidity and adaptability of our organisation.

It reflects the transformative journey we undertake alongside the children and youth we support. It also represents the momentum of our global movement for change and serves as a reminder that together, we can create a brighter future.

The vibrant colours radiate positivity, energy, and hope, mirroring the spirit of the young people we champion. Together, they’re a symbol of unity and strength, as well as our shared purpose and the unbreakable resilience of the youth we serve.

More than a visual update, SCU’s new logo celebrates our goals of transforming the lives of street-connected children. As we look to the future, we remain committed to building a world where every child, regardless of their circumstances, has the chance to thrive.
