SCU Welcomes new Board Members to Strengthen our Mission.
Street Child United (SCU), the global charity using the power of sport to challenge the stigma faced by street-connected children, is proud to announce the appointment of Kent Christian, Daniel Fluskey, and Jitesh Patel as new members of its Board of Trustees. Their extensive expertise across policy, fundraising, corporate engagement, and strategic leadership will support SCU’s continued growth and impact worldwide.
Kent Christian: Strategic Marketing and Corporate Partnerships Executive
Kent Christian is a seasoned marketing executive with over 25 years of experience working with global sports and entertainment properties, international talent, and global sports leagues and events. His leadership in developing high-profile marketing programmes, contract negotiations, and stakeholder engagement has positioned him as a key figure in the sports marketing industry.
Kent’s passion for SCU’s advocacy for education and gender equity stems from personal experiences and a deep belief in the power of sport to transform lives. Having witnessed SCU’s Young Leaders in action at the 2022 Doha event, he is eager to use his global network and strategic expertise to amplify SCU’s reach and fundraising potential.
“The incredible mission and dedicated team of Street Child United and Young Leaders are truly inspirational, and I look forward to leveraging my experience to enhance the organisation’s global impact,” said Christian.
Daniel Fluskey: Advocacy and Policy Leader in the Charity Sector
Daniel Fluskey brings over 20 years of experience in the charity sector, having led policy and advocacy initiatives that have resulted in national government policy changes, funding improvements, and sector-wide advancements in governance and compliance. His work has included collaboration with the UK Prime Minister’s Office, the Charity Commission, and international NGOs to drive change in human rights, safeguarding, and ethical fundraising.
A former trustee of a children’s hospice and an expert in charity regulation, Daniel has been instrumental in providing best practice guidance to boards across the UK. His legal training and MA in Human Rights further enrich his ability to contribute to SCU’s mission.

Jitesh Patel: Transformation and Strategic Partnerships Leader
Jitesh Patel joins the SCU board, bringing expertise in healthcare operations, strategic transformation, corporate partnerships, and analytics. As Deputy Director of Operations at Birmingham Women’s and Children’s Hospital, he leads initiatives that enhance services for vulnerable children and families, using data-driven insights to improve decision-making. Previously, at PricewaterhouseCoopers, he led strategic transformation programmes across the UK, Middle East, and Australia, driving large-scale change and long-term sustainability.
An SCU volunteer since 2019, Jitesh has been deeply involved in events like the Street Child Cricket World Cup, helping amplify young voices. His analytics expertise supports SCU’s focus on measuring impact and informing strategic decisions. Now, as Transformation and Strategic Partnerships Leader, he aims to strengthen SCU’s financial resilience and expand its global reach.
“Having witnessed firsthand SCU’s life-changing impact, I am committed to supporting its success through strategic growth, operational excellence, and data-driven decision-making,” said Jitesh.

SCU’s Founder and CEO, John Wroe, welcomed the new trustees, stating:
